How much does oven cleaning cost?

How much does oven cleaning cost?

With Eagle Eye Oven Cleaning, a single oven costs £60 and a double oven costs £75. A single wide oven is £90, a ceramic or glass hob is £20, a gas hob is £30 to £40 depending on the number of burners, and a standard extractor is £25. The main things that change the price are the size and type of appliance and whether you add a hob or extractor to the same visit.

How does that compare with the UK average?

Independent cost guides put a professional single oven clean at around £50 and a double at around £70 nationally, with London prices higher (Checkatrade’s oven cleaning cost guide). Prices vary by region, by what is included and by how each company works, so always check what a quote covers rather than comparing headline numbers.

What affects the price of oven cleaning?

Size and type of oven

A single oven has one cavity and one door. A double has two of each, plus usually a grill. Wide ovens and range cookers have bigger cavities, more racks and more glass, so they take longer.

Extras in the same visit

Adding the hob and extractor while we are already there is the easiest way to get the whole cooking area done. The grease from cooking builds up on all three, so doing them together gives the best finish.

Parts

If something needs replacing, such as an oven bulb, extractor filter paper or oven liners, these are priced separately and we will tell you before fitting anything.

What is included in a professional oven clean?

  • Racks, trays and removable parts soaked in our heated dip tank.
  • The inside of the oven cleaned by hand.
  • The door glass cleaned, including between the panes where the door design allows.
  • The outside, knobs and handles wiped down.
  • Floor protection while we work, and everything put back.

You can read more about the process on our oven cleaning services page.

Is it worth paying for?

Most people book a professional clean because doing it themselves takes hours, involves strong shop-bought chemicals and still leaves the glass and racks stained. A professional clean uses a heated tank and the right tools, and the oven is usually ready to use again the same day. If you are wondering how often to book, see our guide on how often you should clean your oven.

How to pay

Our prices page notes that payment is by cash or bank transfer. If anything about the price is unclear, call us before you book.

Areas we cover

We clean ovens across South London, Surrey, Kent, Essex and East London, including Bromley, Croydon, Surrey and East London. See all areas covered.

How to compare oven cleaning quotes

When you compare quotes, check these points rather than just the headline price:

  • Is the door glass included? Some quotes only cover the cavity.
  • Are the racks and trays cleaned in a heated tank? Hand scrubbing alone rarely gets them back to bright metal.
  • Is the grill compartment included on a double oven?
  • Are hob and extractor extra, and how much?
  • What happens if you are not happy? We offer a money-back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with the job.
  • Is there a travel or call-out charge for your postcode?

Ways to get the best value

  • Book the oven, hob and extractor together in one visit.
  • Book before the oven gets really bad. Regular cleans are quicker and easier.
  • If you are moving out of a rented home, book in good time before your check-out inspection.
  • Ask about any extra parts, such as liners or a new bulb, while the technician is there.

We are open 6am to 10pm every day, so you can call when it suits you.

Range cookers, AGAs and barbecues

These are priced individually because there is so much variation between them. A 90cm range cooker with two ovens and a grill is a very different job from a 110cm range with three ovens, a warming drawer and a large gas hob. Barbecues vary from a small two-burner to a large outdoor kitchen. Tell us the make, model and width when you ask for a quote, or send a photo, and we will give you a price before we book you in. That way there are no surprises on the day.
